Posted By: Dennis W.
This card just ended on ebay. Unfortunately too rich for my blood right now. I've never seen another. An awesome card. Does anyone have any insight to this issue?

Posted By: identify7
If this style of portrayal even attempted to depict an identified player, I think they would draw more serious bidding.

Although this auction seems to have been rather successful for the seller.

Posted By: barrysloate
The National League Chew has always been considered among the finest and rarest baseball trade cards, perhaps second only to the Darktown Battery trade card. The N.L Chew is scarce, it has exceptional graphics, and is one of the few that portrays a serious ballplayer. The majority of baseball trade cards depict comic scenes, exaggerated head sizes, or other types of caricature. The National League Chew is a gem among trade card collectors; I have only owned a single copy myself.

Posted By: barrysloate
Yes, it is the color one that depicts the bank. I don't have a picture of it, but REA had one a couple of years back in one of their auctions. I forget which one.

I settled for this guy. No truth to the rumor that the guy in the left background is Candy Cummings (!)
