T206 Downey Back Run - conflicting resources

Hi guys. I'm looking for help on a comprehensive checklist for a Back Run that I've been working on.

I share the same last name with Tom Downey, the only baseball player to have our last name on a card. As a nice little sub-set for my T206 collection, I thought it would be fun to chase down a back run for his Batting and Fielding cards.

I have used T206Resource.com to build the checklist, but I am getting some conflicting data. Bill Brown's Super Checklist is amazing, and I probably trust that right now as my go-to. Bill shows a Uzit available for the Batting variation, but the actual Uzit checklist on the site does not.

Can anyone verify this either way?

Thanks In Advance

PS: show me your off back Downeys

An idea to ascertain if it exists would be to look through auction archives from the major houses and see if they have ever sold one. Last summer a large number of small pop off backs came to market and if it exists it would likely have been in that (says the guy who got several low low pop cards from those auctions for his own back run)

The third edition of Scot Reader's Inside T206 shows Downey Batting as possible with a Uzit back.

My understanding is that Downey batting is not possible with uzit. There are two distinct groups in the 350/460 print group. I will attach a thread that should help explain this…Ted Z would definitely chime in if he were still with us.

And here are my two best Downey’s 😀

Nope...no Uzit Downey for either pose

The below thread may be useful. It would seem Downey Batting is not possible with Uzit based on mutual exclusivity of 350/460 regular print subjects with Uzit and Red Hindu, as discovered by Ted (or perhaps Tim Cathey) after I published the last version of Inside T206.
