Premium for Factory 42 T206?
I am helping a friend sell a nice collection of T206 HOFers and minor stars and commons and have found a smattering of “factory 42” backs and some other less common Sweet Caporal back cards.
When pricing the Factory 42 cards, is there a typical % premium that might be considered for the card, Common and HOFer? Any value differentiator for other factory location backs to consider? I don’t see that VCP has noted these pricing and value nuances and wondered what others here have found. Thx for help & feedback - Jeff |
Re: Premium for Factory 42 T206?
Piedmont 42s carry a significant multiplier. The Sweet Caps a very modest one, if anything.

Thanks all... does anyone have a link to the Factory 42 backstory?

Figured I'd add a scan of a P42...

Unless it's some extraordinary? rarity, I haven't seen anything but the Piedy's bring much of a premium. That said others that watch T206s closely know better. And I have always thought Piedmont Fact 42s are bit tougher than people give them credit for. . |
I have a T205 Cobb with a Piedmont factory 42 back that I want to re holder but when I emailed PSA they said that they can't put the 42 back on the label. Just curious if anyone knows why some backs get on the label and others don't.
Thanks |

Here's a couple of fairly nice ones:

Thanks Leon!
Kevin, I have to check, but I think that Chase P42 was around $650. During peak covid pricing a similar one was over $1k. I think currently it's $800-ish. |

PSA doesn’t put t205 backs on slabs. I wish they did. P42 Cobb is significantly tougher than the other backs of his. |

A good one to have, Cliff! Very nice.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. The colors on this - and so many of the T206s - are so beautiful.
