Putting it out there for debate.

Gentlemen,

I don't normally collect W cards of this type, thus my possible shortcoming. I PMed with one member on this cards authenticity and sent a PM to another, but that member I have not heard back from so far and he last posted in May of this year.

Here is the link to me about the second member'ss statement about the blue print on the card:

https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?p=2299602

The link was provided by the other member and the statement is on January 1 of this year.

Here is a link I found that shows the blue ink in the second picture of the front in the article.

Now, as for a red background and blue ink..........

Any serious input is appreciated.

Thank you,

Brian Van Horn

It seems like the Fritsch reprints have that same wonky upper left corner as yours where the black lined border doesn't meet up as a corner and the authentic ones have a normal corner border. So on that alone, I'd say you have a reprint...and I don't collect this issue so that's just based on some quickie fun research.

William,

Thank you. I also don't collect this issue thus my shortcoming.

I have collected them, and still have them.

Those pictured are reprints. Not even good ones.

I used to hate the look of them, it reminded me of someone cutting up the panels in a comic book... crude, coarse images and paper.

Now... and I don't know if my collecting tastes have matured or manured, I really like the W514s. Also the W572s. I have all but one of the variations of the W512s, and some W513s. I think the Earle Combs card in W513 was my first card of him.
