have an old photo from 1800s trying to learn about. I bought in an antique store in a frame in Jefferson City Missouri. I had it looked at my photographer saidreal photo. A person said looks late 1800s. Then I read before there were baseball cards, how they took these photos. Any feedback would be awesome

There are thousands, maybe millions, of old photos similar in nature. It's very hard to tell much about them without any provenance. As it is, it has minimal value due to it's condition. Maybe $50-$100 to the right person. It has some neat baseball items in it. And I would put it at circa 1890s but others might know better on it.

The African American player in the upper right probably adds value to the photo. If it is real I would say in the $250-$500 range.

Given that he is not in uniform and is holding multiple bats, I think he may have been an equipment handler or have held some other support position, not a player on an integrated team. (I don't know if that would impact the value.)

The catcher’s mask on the left side of the photo is interesting and maybe help to date the photo. We have some early catcher experts on the board

Also, the players look very young. I am guessing this was from a school, certainly not professional and likely not semi-pro

Value? Enjoy it, that’s the measure of its value. I don’t mean that cryptically, but rather to mean it likely has little monetary value
