T206 Broad Leaf Hunter Ghosting?
3 Attachment(s)
Does anyone here have any idea about the nature of the ghosting along the top area on the front of this card? It sure doesn't look to me like it's from the wet ink of another Broad Leaf card. I tried to blow up the area I'm referring to, but for some reason the edited picture just stayed the same size. Thanks for any help.

I think you answered your own question. What gives you the impression that it is ghosting?
I’m guessing that it is a post factory wet sheet transfer, maybe even of a back stamp stacked on top of this Hunter |
It just looks like ghosting to me. Perhaps it is a post-factory imprint of some kind.

I can’t see how this is ghosting as it does not seem similar at all to any other printing in the series. I tend to rule out wet sheet as well for the same reasoning.
Seems just like some type of ink color transfer from humid storage during its 100+ years of life from something stacked with it. Perhaps paper with a child’s ink stamp on it? |
May be you can ask that guy who make those ghosting and overprint t206 youtube videos.
|
May be you should consider playing with the contrast and brightness setting against the front scan, it looks like there are more "ghostings" on the top left portion of the card.
