1890s West Side Grounds Photo - ID help please
 

Does anyone have images of Chicago's West Side Grounds in the 1890s?
I recently acquired this photo that clearly depicts the West Side Grounds. It was found in a scrapbook that would date to the 1910s.

The photo is labeled as Baltimore vs. Chicago and indeed if the we look at the team uniforms for the Baltimore Orioles in 1896 and the Chicago Colts in 1896 the uniforms are a match for those teams.

Also, if we look at this 1906 RPPC of the World Series at the West Side Grounds we can see an obvious location match and the that the grandstands have been extended well past where they were in our photo. This suggests that the image is from the 1890s.

The photo is on Velox paper and my best guess is our image was printed somewhere in the 1910s to 1920s era.

Does anyone have images of the West Side Grounds in the 1890s? Anyone have any game action images of the 1890s Baltimore Orioles dynasty?

Thanks Don, exactly the type of help I want. It appears to be an exact match to what my photo shows.

Doesn't appear to be an 1890's type photo though.

Edited to add - Looks like Jim already covered that. c. 1910's to 1920's print

The West Side Grounds II opened in 1893 and the last year Baltimore was in the National League was 1899, so that is the window for the photo. I still can't find any other photographic image of the West Side Grounds from that period. Anyone else have any luck?
