Bank Transfers for payment in BST?

I cancelled my PP account (long story) and was wondering if anyone out there would be willing to take a bank transfer as payment? Has anyone done this as a form of payment?

I live abroad do sending cash/check isnt very practical for me.

Thanks folks,
Royce

I've done it before, no problems. Would do it again so long as I was comfortable with the buyer.

Personally I would be a little worried about sending my bank account information to someone I've never dealt with before and who lives overseas. I would also want to know why you canceled your paypal account.

Agreed.
Not knowing someone you are doing this kind of deal with is a yellow flag. Doing it with someone you don't know from overseas is worse.

It has been 15 years since I done a international(to Europe) bank transfer but back then I remember them being very expensive. Is there still a fee and if so any idea how much?

I would not be worried about account #'s as they are very easy to get. Doing something with them is a whole different story.

No no, my checking account is in America via Capital One.

I cancelled my PP account bc my mother's account got hacked and hundreds charge without her knowledge. I just dont trust em and am trying to get off the grid so to speak.

Another option is to use a money center bank with branches both in the US and abroad. RBC, Barclay's and HSBC come to mind.

These days if you want to collect cards you pretty much have to have a Paypal account. Can't you just connect a credit card to it and be protected if anything weird ever happened?

About the time I joined this forum my PayPal got hacked for $3000, luckily we got the $ back. I still have it but try to never use it and still buy cards on a very regular basis.

Now it is hooked to a account just for PayPal and we only put $ in the account when we use it.

I believe this is true and the CC companies will afford protections too....
