W517 Mini ?

Is this an actual W517 Mini or cut from a 4 in 1 exhibit card?

I always used to go by seeing a dash line to cut on for it to be a legit W517 mini.

The borders here almost make it look like the bottom right corner of a 4 in 1.

I think someone once said that you could also tell the difference by measuring the actual size of the picture itself, the W517 mini's being a tad larger in size then the 4 in 1 panels.

Hard to tell Dan. Would be nice to know the measurements. I too have usually seen the dotted lines on real mini's, however a close cut might preclude them from being seen, though these are cut close and the dots can be seen.

Yes exactly Leon! Thanks for those pictures as it saves me from digging mine out.

Actually those are the closest cut that I have seen and yes, you can still see the dotted line.

But of course I guess with printing back then there are probably differences in where the line was printed on the strips.

So if we are not sure, I wonder if the graders were?

I haven't tested the measuring theory yet, have you?

I wonder if that is a fact or not, that sure would help if that was the case.

Yes, I think printing was anything but consistent back in the 1920s. That being said I give the card you pictured a 70/30 chance of being incorrectly labeled. I would need to do some more studying....

I think you'd also need to check which 4-1 Exhibits have that image of Lefty O'Doul. And if the image was on a PC back Exhibit, O'Doul would need to be positioned where it would be a blank back if cut out.

Hi Dan, the trip was good, and the kids are trampling over their parents as usual.

No, I never did get a response for my BST link for the 5 of diamonds playing card for Ruth. Link. If anyone has a copy, I'm always a buyer! :D
