The joy of VCBC better than gold
 

Going through some old boxes of stuff and found a nice run of VCBCs. Lots of great info. The June 2004 edition had this unusual fact...if you invested in gold, the Dow or a VG-Ex T206 set in 1979, the appreciation in 2004 would have been gold up 261%, Dow up 955% and the T206 up 3000%!! If only I could go back to 1979 and 2004 me...

As a collector who is in the middle of selling some nice T206 backs I have owned for quite a while.....I can safely say they are literally better than gold. I just wish I wouldn't have blown my money on other cards in the past.....

At least when you buy a baseball card you actually get the physical item you are buying, with gold you may be paying for a piece of paper that doesn't even have actual gold behind it.

Personally have I have put only a small amount of money in the stock markets and almost all in Pre WWII cards, no way I could have done as well investing in any other form. Plus I have some great items to display.
