Help Needed- 1922 American Caramel (E121) "Babe" Ruth (Holding Bird)
5 Attachment(s)
A lady brought this into to the shop and I need a little help with it. Condition is poor as seen in the picture (sorry they are sideways). First off, does it look real? She says its been in the family for years. I told her to get it graded just for authenticity. With that being said, what is the value in this condition? She does want to sell it and supposedly has an offer. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks Matt |
$500?

I think it probably looks good to me although I'm far from an expert here. The card would probably grade Authentic due to trimming. I sold one of these graded Poor (1) w/ bad eye appeal a couple of years ago for $400, so I'd probably offer around half of that if I were buying for resale.

Looks real but probably worth $300 range due to condition. Definitely filler material in my opinion.

Thanks for the fast replies. Would getting it graded help her sell it or just sell it as is?

Yeah...the ruth holding bird isnt very desirable...and is beaten...i amaend my guess to 400 retail.

Grading would authenticate the card but add little to the value of the card.

Thanks, If anyone is interested as is, PM me and I will talk to her. If she gets its graded, I will update you. Thanks again
