Blanke Wenneker series'
The title says it all. I believe that until I was alerted, by one of our board members, to this box on ebay and subsequently won it several years ago, we didn't have a firm understanding of where the Nadja Caramel cards originated from. Now, it seems some of the Blanke Wenneker advertising items I see on ebay go for a fair amount more than they used to. Show some E104s, or Blanke Wenneker stuff, if you would like to...(the top 3 scans are of the original box which is approx 9" x 14", the next box is actually much smaller in size)

Some trade cards/bookmarks..............
Assuming Blanke chocolates was a predecessor of Blanke Wenneker........

no doubt
Hey Tom
No doubt they are the same. Check out that first item you posted. It has identical cursive writing as the cards and the first box shown in the first post. Very cool. Thanks for sharing. |
Have a few more will try to post images........
Tougher than any of the Nadja baseball are the E239 Nadja Mail in Foreign Lands cards........... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E.../e239front.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-F...0/e239back.jpg |

This E239 is probably super rare but I think I would put E104-3 up against most sets. We are still finding uncatalogued players from the third series of baseball. An individual type of E104-3 baseball won't be super tough (though we might not see one for a year at a time) however, finding a certain player could take almost a lifetime. regards |
Leon- how does one identify an E104 type 3? I assume there is some easy way to tell. I will say that I have never seen that particular pose of Tom Jones, so is it just the pose that distinguishes it from types 1 and 2?

teams.....

E104-2 are only Pittsburg (sic) players E104-3 are other teams |
That was easy.:o

Interesting thread. So the E92 Nadja's may have also been distributed by Blanke Wenneker candy also ?
Nice cards everyone, and that's a really cool Nadja/B.W. box Leon, thanks for showing that. Sincerely, Clayton |

Awesome stuff Leon! that e104-3 set is awesome. So many interesting cards; one of my favorites I saw from a 19th century auction was an e104-3 chase. Great card.

I figured I would revive this thread because it has some old but good info in it. It is still not often that we can find anything with "Nadja Caramels" on it so this cake box (which is quite huge) was a nice find.

Very cool Leon................
