Chicago Show - This upcoming weekend

Hi - any sellers/dealers going to be at the Chicago show this coming weekend.

It's in "my backyard" and will be looking for anything Black Sox or Deadball Era related.

Hope to see ya there and say hello.

I'll be there Saturday morning with my 11 yr. old son. He's psyched and so am I. He collects current, pre-war (T3s) for me. We are about 45 - 60 mins. southwest depending on traffic.

Sun-Times

I will be making the trip in from Detroit with some buddies on Saturday. Hope to find some T206s and anything else of interest. Since any decent shows are long gone around here, this is as close to good as it gets. Plenty of car ride time to listen to Public Enemy and "Glory of Their Times".

Does anybody know if this is a big show or little show, and the name of it. THANKS,CHRIS
PS. Just wondering if it is worth the drive?

The Big One

Biggest show in Chicago (except the National). Great selection, tons of autograph guests, PSA, SGC & Beckett on site, Legendary, Mr. Mint etc. Definitely worth the drive (I guess depending on where you are coming from). Put on by a company called Mounted Memories (they have a website) but it's called The Sun-Times Show because it's sponsored by the local Chicago newspaper. Hundereds of tables and thousands of people.
Hope that helps!

I understand Ernie Banks will be signing. Anyone know the date(s) and time(s)?

Thanks.

Hey Steve! Here is the link to Mounted Memories and this week's Sun Times show.

Luckily  I did not spend too much in the Legendary auction and will have some money to hopefully pick something up.

Looks like Ernie is signing from 11-1 on Sunday. Let's sign 2 today!

Chicago Show

Hello,
I will be set up (Bucklercards) next to Uncle Dick Decourcy near the front. Look for the Bucklercards sign. Not sure the table number. I will have a large selection of cards from the Tobacco era to the 1960s. I am looking at a large T206 lot when I get into town on Thursday which will be broken down and sold individually if I make the purchase. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the show and in Hyatt's bar.

Thanks Jeff!

That's one impressive list of autograph signers.

I have a newspaper page from May, 1970 showing Ernie when he hit his 500th with a side pic of me cheering in the left field bleachers.

Always though it would be nice to get it auto'd but don't know if I want to pop $119 for it. Have to think about it.

Thanks for all the GREAT information. I live in INDIANA and and do think it is worth the drive. THANKS,CHRIS

Show

Yes - it's 10 minutes from me in Des Plaines (D.E. Stephens Convention Ctr). Met Tony and his son at a previous show, traded a couple. Bought some cards from Chris Buckler as well. He was dead-on in one area - Bench 2nd year card he said would get an 8. I thought no better than 7, 7.5. Chris - had it gotten a 9, I would have owed you a C Note :-)

Not sure if I'll be there Friday night or Saturday?
