In 1947, in order to minimize the issues of racism and discrimination, the Dodgers held Spring Training in Havana, Cuba. The Major League team went to Cuba along with the AAA Montreal Royals who Jackie Robinson was a member of. Accompanying him was Roy Campanella, who had been promoted to the Montreal Royals and would spend the 1947 season there.

This ball was signed by the 1947 Montreal Royals team. It is signed by both Robinson and Campanella, and is a rare example of a place where they signed on the same panel (right near each other).

I don't know of any items (other than a photo from the Cuban trip) which are from a date so close to April 15, 1947 when Jackie broke the Major League color barrier.

I read a great book about that called Havana Hardball.

Thanks! It slots in between my 1946 Montreal Royals team signed ball and 1947 Dodgers signed ball in telling the Jackie Robinson story.

Picked up a group of NY Yankee Lineup Cards. Most Signed with Keane, Houk, Martin. As Of now The games haven't been identified So I have some Research to look forward to. ( good thing I love Research). Will update when I'm finished.

The 3 1965 Lineup cards are from 9/17 9/18 9/25. Mantle hit safely on 9/17 and 9/25 And had a Walk on the 18th.

Knocked one off of my want list. 1971 National League Playoffs Scorecard between SF Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates. Cheapo Horace Stoneham just used a plain score card so I don't think too many people kept it. Neatly scored for the Giants win...ofcourse all went down hill from there haha. I actually listened to this game in my Jr High class, as my teacher was a big fan and she allowed the student's listen for the last half hour of class!

This is very cool, I have a couple of these from earlier that year. I lived in Frisco from 1965-1971, and 71 was the year the Giants finally broke the 2nd place jinx! We moved to Miami in Sept. of 71, so I had to watch the NLCS on TV from the east coast. Bummer. To this day I can’t stand Bob Robertson. Robertson must had hit 5-6 homers in that series, and it felt like he single-handedly beat my Giants. As a kid I was devastated 😭 Anyway, the Giants had a good team in 71, just not as good as the Pirates 😀 Thanks for sharing, GO GIANTS!!

Nice! I keep hoping I might stumble upon one of those from a seller who lists it as any other 1971 program. Still hoping… :p
