To me, how someone treats animals is a good gauge of the kind of person they are. I'm sure my wife would tell me I'm selfish and have way too many cardboard pictures of dead guys. :o

Don't know about Parker Pumper but I definitely had a bit of a crush on Parker Posey

It's never too late to start. They are so beautiful with the B/W picture and the amazing red borders.

When I first started collecting them I figured it would be the perfect set to build over a very long time. When I had around 80 of them I decided to sell all but the Ft Worth players. I need 2 more to finish the Ft Worth team and need one more T210 to finish another collecting project. Selling and switching my focus is a choice I sometimes regret and still ponder just going for the set minus the big 2.

and ultimately, which is most important, Leon? Personally, I value my dogs' opinions ... happily, theirs tend to agree with my wife's :D

Ryan, I don't think of you as a pumper, you seem to be a buy-and-hold sort, looking to accumulate your cardboard.

There have been a few pumpers on here, in my opinion. There was a guy not too long ago that was saying you can't go wrong with Mantle rookies, they were going to go up, up, up. Turns out he had 2 or 3 52T Mantles coming up at HA.

Another guy on here was talking about 82T Gwynn as one of the cards with the most growth potential. Co-incidentally he was unloading several Gwynn PSA 10s RCs.

I don't believe Ruth, Cobb, Jackson etc. have any extra upside than other stars, but saying that doesn't make you a pumper, unless you are sitting on those cards trying to move them.

if anything, it seems to me your posts are intended to pump negativity into the asset class so that prices come down, in your interest as a collector. You may be the biggest (anti) pumper here!
No dog in the fight, but this was a fun rebuttal. +1 Ryan

LOL...no. That was a fake pump above.

They aren't very scarce and can be had at almost any time.

The only pumpers I’ve seen around here. Jokes aside, we all make our own decisions to purchase. I’ve never took advice of a random individuals musing to influence my decisions. It really doesn’t bother me to see why people think this card will go up or this card will go down. It’s all opinion like everything else. Everyone’s got one.

Saying that you can't go wrong with a 52 Mantle doesn't really feel like pumping to me. Even if you own ten of them. It's a pretty common viewpoint in the hobby. Perhaps even the most common when asked which cards one should target. But a guy with a box full of Gwynn RCs telling everyone that those are going to the moon soon and you'd better get them while you still can... ya, that's definitely pumping. Or rather it's the flavor of pumping that I dislike. I guess both could be "pumping" technically, but the first doesn't feel slimy, while the second one does.
