T206 Uncorrected Error???

While doing some research on the players in the T206 set, I came across the ELLAM, Nashville card. According to various sources it is Roy Ellam.

However, while looking at the SABR minor league database there was no Roy Ellam playing for Nashville during 1909-1912. The other players in the T206 listed with Nashville are on the roster. Roy Ellam did play for Nashville but it was not until 1916-1920, well after T206 was finished.

While during further research, I did find that Roy Ellam played for Birmingham (SL) in 1909-1915. Also during 1909 he played for the Cincinnati Reds.

So, should Roy Ellam have been listed with Birmingham (ELLAM, Birmingham) in lieu of Nashville for the T206 set? I have not been able to find anything that would suggest that Roy was with the Nashville team for a short while and to have never played a game so his T206 card would have Nashville has the team's city.

Does anyone have any information on this? Or is it an "Uncorrected Error" card?

That does seem to be the case. Frank W. mentioned this during a discussion that initially centered on Foley White a few months back.

It probably is just an uncorrected error, or Ellam may have even signed with Nashille at some point only to never actually play with them, or something along those lines.

The picture is absolutely that of Ellam as Dan Bretta found a Real Photo PC of Ellam that was the same photo, only from one of his pre-Birmingham teams.

Here is a Birmingham Ellam from the E270 Tin Tops set...
