Default Questions regarding the N230 Susini issue

Posted By: John S

I believe that a board member won the Speaker piece on eBay. I picked up a few of these from a German collector a few years back. His notes to me were that they were cataloged as N230, were Cuban, and issued in 1915. Is that information correct? How rare are they compared to other contemporary issues? Are there other Susini issues? The examples that I have are not colorized. I have posted one of mine below. The image was later used on Churchman's and Edward, Ringer, & Bigg Sports of the World sets.

Yes I won the Speaker but know very little about the issue. Curious that it has an "N" designation inasmuch as it is a 20th Century card.

Looking forward to some input as well.

P.S. Missed you and your Dad at the National. Maybe next year.

Dad and I are planning to attend the National again next year Steve. Looking forward to seeing you as well. Would you mind posting (or me posting) the link to the auction?

No problem John. Here's the link. I've been trying to upload the scans to my photobucket so I could post them but was having some problems doing so.

Don't know how much help this is, but found a web site showing the "only 3" baseball subjects.

Originally, the ACC used N for Central and South American cards (N230 Susini, N258 Diaz,). There was no letter for 19th century cards (28 Allen & Ginter, 162 Goodwin).

I don't know how someone pinpointed the year to 1915, but the cards are from that era,
