Default Newsboys !

Anyone notice the two Newsboys posted on ebay through a auction house? Seems like they went for a fair price, $2500 for the Griffin and $3000 for the Meekin... Nice "hard to find" cards I wish I could get my hands on even though they are just common players. Are the Newsboys going up in value?

They've always been desirable cabinets.

I don't know much about sales of these cards in recent years but that seems like a lot of money when you add in the 20% Buyer's Premium and $15 for shipping. Though I am not complaining because I own a Yale Murphy card from this set, one of three known, so far.

I think TIK bought a Yale Murphy on eBay a few months back for $900.

Here is a scan of my Newsboy Murphy card along with a cabinet card from when he was in college, hence the nickname "Yale" Murphy.

David

$900 is a steal! The buyers premium was 15% in person..

In the n54 non-sports forum gallery, there is a picture of a Van Haltren cabinet with an ad line on the front. Is this a common variation for Newsboys?

BTW, if any of you haven't seen the gallery in the non-sports forum, it is extremely impressive. Dan C. has done a great job coordinating it, and doing all the web page work.

Most Newsboys don't have that ad, it is quite scarce. We discussed these in a thread several weeks ago.

Dennis, If I am not mistaken I think Dave F. has a Park Wilson for sale... If he has not already sold it!
