Default I just want a nice holder...

Posted By: Aaron Cowan

It seems like Pro-Mold is slowly getting the message that not all vintage is graded since they now offer one-screw screwdowns with diamond corners for pre-1957 Topps, Bowman and Leaf. Aside from getting T-cards graded the only options seem to be sleeve and toploader or sleeve and screwdown. I just calculated that it would cost me $560 (if I understood everything correctly) to get all my raw cards graded by SGC (56 raw cards). If I'm missing something here please tell me, like if I'm off by a decimal.

I've read and heard that the non-recessed screwdowns could cause damage to cards over time. I would think that recessed screwdowns would allow for the cards to slide around seeing that they are smaller than the recessed area. The sleeve and toploader approach is fine with me as long as I have the cards stored away, but I would like to display them (in the near future) and want something better looking than flimsy toploaders holding the cards. What options are out there other than spending through my nose to get them graded?

***Disclaimer: This is not meant to be or become another Raw vs. Graded thread.***
