Default The rarest of the rare by category?

Posted By: Dave

I got to thinking this morning and wanted to ask the question....what are the most rare of each series? The absolute hardest to find in any condition??

My guesses..

E cards- E107 or E300...?
D cards- D380??? This one is really out of left field
N cards- Just So Tobacco or Maybe Four Base Hits???
T cards- T4 Obaks?

Ok...enough of my guessing...if any experts would please help....

I have posted these cards so often even I am tired of looking at them...you can go to my personal collection on my website to see them. If you do please remember to right click on most of the pictures and look to the lower right to enlarge them. It's also a pretty good resource for figuring out what a kind of a card you have...since I am only 3-4 shy of completion (of the tough ones)....best regards

E1- E107
E2- AWH caramels or bishop team cards
D- Niagra overprint D355, i hear Tarzans are pretty tough too
T- Fans ofcourse after that T208 fireside, Obak cabinets, and thoat T100 is tough too, thing is i dont really like to count sets that only have one or two cards like fans, or t100 or '29 Star candy with only Ruth/Gehrig which is prob rarest R set...
R- Uncle Jacks, George C Miller esp. ones not cancelled.
W- Sporting Life cabinets
N-Hess Calif, Alpha Engraving, Peck&Snyder, not a 19nth century buff but know those are extremely tough sets.

On a related subject, One of the rarest "D" cards would be the 1917 D-Unc. Merchants Bakery cards (E135 group). There was a post last week asking for help on ID, and the card pictured (back pictured only) turned out to be a Babe Ruth.

Along with the 1921 Herpolsheimer, its got to be one of the rarest Ruths out there.
