Default Grover Alexander's rookie card....

Posted By: bigfish

What card is considered his rookie? He has the Tom Barker card from 1913 and the T222 fatima. Not sure which card is considered his rookie. Anyone have an idea?

The National Game is a 1913 issue and the Fatima is a 1914 issue. The National Game is widely accepted as his rookie.

If you're willing to expand your definition of "card," there's also the M101-2 Sporting News premium, the S81 silk, and the L1 leather. All were issued before 1913.

Who holds the major league record for most wins by a rookie?

Grover Cleveland Alexander

As a rookie in 1911, he led the NL in wins (28), complete games (31), innings pitched (367), and shutouts (7).

Not a bad start . . .
