In anticipation of the US entering WWI, Eddie Collins (back to us) leads the Chicago White Sox in marching practice. This photo belonged to Collins.

Great picture! A totally different era in which the average ball player was not "all about me" as the players in our mercenary game today.

He was an infantry sergeant during World War I and after his baseball career ended ran baseball clinics.
