I thought I would start a thread about prewar baseball cards of war veterans. please post your favorite. This is a great way to remember and thank them for serving for us. This is Herb Pennock. WWI Navy.

In anticipation of the US entering WWI, Eddie Collins (back to us) leads the Chicago White Sox in marching practice. This photo belonged to Collins.

Great picture! A totally different era in which the average ball player was not "all about me" as the players in our mercenary game today.

He was an infantry sergeant during World War I and after his baseball career ended ran baseball clinics.
