Anyone win any of these cards in Mastro auction? Herpoisheimer's 1921 cards. Were you satisfied with the prices? Also, I see no reason to buy another SCD price guide because prices are not even close on vintage cards. Anybody else have input on the price guide? I do know the prices are just a guideline, but most are not even close.

What makes you think that a guide that comes out once a year can possibly have relevant prices when nobody has been able to master that with a monthly publication? It is a guide and a wonderful checklist and worth the few bucks each year.

As for the Herpolsheimer's if they are truly unique then the prices were low with the exception of the Johnson which may have almost been close to ebay retail.

I guess that's my point, don't call it a price guide, call it a checklist. You can use previous years for the checklist feature. The price guides actually come from the auction results from the catalogs or online auctions, including ebay.

You could use the prior years but then you would miss out on the newly added sets, like the Herpolsheimer's, and new finds within sets.

Hey Greg,
It looks like we should have bought that lot for the going price at the time. It was a bargain given those prices. That Johnson sold for just over $1000. when it was listed on ebay, the winner beat me out on that one and the Cobb.
