Default R316 Kashins--anyone have any with ad backs?

Posted By: Todd Schultz

I recently bought a Kashin Muddy Ruel with a small, non-exciting red-stamped ad back for "Douglas Park Auditorium Confectionery and Fountain Luncheonette". Anyone else run across these with advertising backs?

Intresting stamp, i've never heard of it. BTW the only Kashin I own is blank backed with no markings or stamping.

Hi Todd,

I have one with the Douglas Park stamp (Maguire is the player-- who is yours?) Email me for conversation on it. R316s are too late for most of these guys to mess with

Tim

1929 isn't too late and I kind of like the Kashin's. They're a fairly inexpensive way to get some great cards, albeit they're kind of big . We've had some discussions about the ones that have "Made in U.S.A." on them but don't think we've talked about back stamps too much. I've seen one that said "Oriental" something I think. Maybe one more too but don't remember for sure. As a back collector these have quite a bit of interest to me. Don't you dare take the discussion private. (Red Hindu).......that's an inside joke....regards

I have not seen any Grove R316's with ad backs, but that's not to say that they don't exist. I have seen one or two W554's with ad backs.

I have a complete box of 25 Kashin cards. They were issued in four different color boxes. Each color box has 24 different players and one Ruth card. A business may have opened some boxes of these cards and stamped the backs themselves. I doubt that any were produced with stamped backs.
