ok, who burnt me on this NO "B" I closed down? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5170845839&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

Touche! you were successful, the seller tried to hide the picture but I had made a copy, then he said he pictured the wrong Sweeney card. A bad lie but funny.

I welcome the competition but once the deal is over, it should be over. It is a jungle out here, I actually love it! What a rush. Anyway, someone successfully destroyed this deal for me so fess up so I know who my competition is after the fact!!! Dan.

As you probably guessed by now, I have a fond interest in all Doyle Error Facts and Tales.
It's the first time that I've heard that one.
About five years eh?
That's just around the time of the Rosen, SGC and Keith Olbermann bad experience of the Third Kind.
A few inappropriate Doyles popped up.
Would love to know more about what you've heard.
E-mail me.
Thanks again.
Joe

There seems to be alot of spineless, no-backbone punks in this hobby. My list is growing day by day. Very sad I might add.

so...you won the lot for $400 and then the seller said they wouldn't sell the lot because the wrong card was shown? Then, the seller sold the lot to another person who offered more than your winning $400 bid (been a long day, sorry if this was obvious!)?

This happened to me last winter and I almost drove to Jacksonville to get a direct answer from a seller on eBay who lied to me via e-mail and phone and sold a lot to someone else. The sale was final!

I think what Brian wants is a picture of the sellers scan? So do I.

This sucks Dan.

Yes, I received your letter yesterday. (About the time the door knob broke). When you asked how I was doing. Was that some kind of joke?- Bob Dylan

Dan- I have had this happen twice, once on a T205 Hoblitzell no stats years ago. The Hoblitzell guy actually had received the money through paypal and someone emailed him and told him he had goofed (I think I paid around $500) and then bought it from him. There are definitely gutless cowards around, I agree. Most recently David S. won the E94 lot of 13 cards in Hunt's Auction when my bid wasn't properly carried out. It was not David's fault, as a live bidder. He didn't know who the other bidder was nor how much the bid was for, just what was called out. When David was gracious enough to mention on the board that he would sell me a few of the cards from that lot, a couple of jackasses who read it on this board told him that if he did not put them on ebay or if he sold them to me without others getting a chance to bid on them that they would boycott his auctions in the future. What a bunch of low life cretins. I hope you are reading this and know exactly who you are. I'm one of the oldest guys on this board and try to avoid confrontations, but I sure would like to meet you at the national and have you tell me to my face who you are, you feckless miscreants.
Any way, I feel your pain Dan.
Be well,
tbob

Hi Dan,
Cap is right, I was looking for a scan of the card. My wife had surgery last week, so I haven't looked at many EBAY items. I've spent most of my time watching the teletubbies, Dora the Explorer, and Thomas the train on television while I'm looking after my kids. I might snipe you or make an offer before something ends, but would never make an offer after the auction ended. I'm sure you know who the culprit is, because , like you said there aren't that many of us out there. I would like a scan of the card for my records, so If you can't post it, email it to me. Thanks Brian

Dan,

That's really disgusting behavior on the part of the seller. I can't believe someone you know would do that to you -- i.e., contact the seller and negotiate a price for one of the cards in the lot. Absolutely pathetic.

how many of you out there would really (and I do mean "really") be willing to take what is potentially a multi-thousand dollar hit on a card that you own by following through with an auction after learning that you had significantly underpriced the BIN card because of lack of knowledge? The only person who I know for sure that would answer "yes" is James Verrill. Proof is when he sold the first group of Broadleaf 460's for low BIN's. Answer truthfully............

Eric

I do not blame the seller near as much as I blame the spineless weasal who knows me and goes out of his way to stab me in the back at every chance he gets out of jealousy. He tried it on the tattoo orbits I just won but that seller was honest and stuck to the deal.

Dan,

Short and simple, whoever did that to you is a coward. Snipes are fine; I can even live with s/o making an offer to a seller b/f an auction is over; but tamporing with a deal that has been made is simply unethical imo.

Bob,

What happened to you is just as bad imo. Nobody is required to list cards that they want to sell on ebay and shouldnt be forced to by moronic threats. I dont sell alot, but if s/o threatened me like that, I would have to tell them not to bid on my auctions - chances are, if they wanted the cards bad enough they'd bid in the future anyway. I would also bet that who ever did that to you has made their own private deals to sell and purchase cards without a thought of preventing others from having a chance to win a card on ebay.
