Default eBay is retarded

I just went to list some cards on eBay and found out they created new catagories. In their infinate wisdom, they have once again made arbitrary catagories that make no sense within the hobby. First we get to deal with 1940-50 when 1945 is a natural break in hobby terms. Now we get 1900-09 and 1910-19 nicely splitting the t206 set.

eBay claims they talk to people before they make these changes but you wouldn't guess that from the way they have handled the baseball card section.

Recently there was a fistfight between fans and players at a professional basketball game. Not to be outdone, the National Hockey League has announced that when they resume their season, not only will several fans be beaten every period, but one lucky fan each game will be run over by the Zamboni.

I just listed everything in the 1909 category and some worked out and some did not - overal it all came out in the wash I believe. This is getting ridiculous (all these extra categories)!

I don't mind the extra catagories. It would be nice if they actually consulted the people that used them before they just arbitrarily throw up catagories. They claim to do this, but there is no way you can convince me of that given how they have split up the basbeall card catagory. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I bookmarked the entire pre 1930 section, both graded and ungraded cards, and that way I don't miss anything (unless you include the sellers who list their vintage cards in the Sports Memorabilia section or tobaccoiania (sp) section by mistake).

eBay might be better served by making catagories for specific sets, rahter than seperate things by year. This would make much more sense. They sould still keep the pre-1930, 1931-40 etc, but then within those catagories, list the popular sets and then an "other" catagory. Makes too much sense to me.

The difference be genius and insanity is acceptance.

Jay,

That's a great idea but I doubt it will happen because IT MAKES SENSE!
