Default What's hot & what's not

Posted By: Ben

Thought it might be interesting to get everyone's observations about what's selling well in today's prewar market, and what isn't. I'll start us off with a few of the obvious ones. These are all, of course, just my observations.

HOT

-Old Judges, Mayos, virtually everything 19th century
-Caramel cards, especially the tougher issues in higher grades
-Bread cards (Brunner's, General Baking, Tip Top)
-High grade t205's
-T206 errors, printer's scraps, proofs

NOT

-T206's in mid grade
-T201's, T202's
-1920's E sets (e120, e121, e220, etc)
-Strip cards (w514, w515 etc)
-Goudey's and Playball's

Also, it seems as though 50's stars are very cold these days, many deals to be had there (if you're into that kinda thing). Your ideas?

Ben,
I generally agree with your post, the Mayos have been particularly hot (and plentiful) lately, even when they are in terrible condition.

I also agree with your lists.
unfortunatly most of the pre-war cards i am currently hunting are on the hotties list.
Non-sport issues from A&G , Kimballs, Duke, Goudey, etc..all seem to be warming up.

Ben-
Wish you were right on all of those, but I'm getting beat up on '41 Playballs right now. They seem to be pretty strong in the NrMt and up level.
And with Kit Young buying up Cracker Jacks (as we've discussed) those in mid grade are pretty high.
