I'd appreciate thoughts on this Clemente auto. To help, I've provided a zoom of the auto too.
It seems to align with other examples that I've seen from TPG examplars such as these but I'm not an expert. https://i.psacard.com/autographfacts...171.jpg?h=1000 https://i.psacard.com/autographfacts...177.jpg?h=1000 Opinions?

I don't like it.
It looks too slowly drawn, or like an old man's signature. There's no flow or style to it. Remember Roberto Clemente died young, while still an active player. The signatures I've seen of his, all have a definite flow and style to them; this one lacks both. Steve

That appears to be the work of Forger Ron D. he started out as a legit dealer then found it more lucrative to just eliminate the middleman and forge ahead. He began with black calligraphy pen, then switched to this color ink. He was prolific but not that good but for a while was good enough to fool early collectors in the 1970's & 1980's. his "best" work in those days was signing t-cards because of the limited area to sign. Rumor has it he eventually hired someone to do the Signatures for him. THAT fellow (whoever he was) was quite good and was responsible for the WINDFALL of thousands of fake signed B&W Hall of fame plaques that hit in the 1980's. Ruined a well-respected and very likeable dealer Ted Elmo, who died shortly after and drove a (then) duo of card show promoters out of business. Ron D. passed away about ten years ago and last I heard he is still dead.
