Default My National experience

Got back home late last night from the show.

For me, this was probably one of the more interesting shows in a long time. I felt there were, on average, more scarce items than I had seen in several years. I know others disagree, but that is my opinion. I had a great time catching up with some hobby friends. The venue was less than stellar, as many have pointed out, but overall lots of fun.

I managed to pick up some items on my want list and some upgrades. I include just a couple of items I managed to bring home. Thanks to Terry (Tik 'n' Tik) and William Chappell for the Levy and Ruth. I'd been looking for the SF Hess forever. And spotting the tougher variation of the Greenberg was nice.

Default Ruth

Thanks, Eric.
Except for the centering, I'm still scratching my head on the grade for the Ruth. Lower grade, great eye appeal--I'll take it every time!

Default Ruth

Thanks! I always thought the Kashins were under-appreciated, but I don't know how long that will last...

I also got this one graded at the National--no lines on Wednesday (in contrast with the hourlong wait at Beckett).

Congrats on the Greenberg! That version has dried up almost completely! I agree as I saw more scarce items than at any other National I've been to.....thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Michael. Yeah, I could not resist that pickup but had to show some 'restraint' and left several cards on my wantlist on the table...

I am curious to know how many people felt the same way about seeing more scarce items than in recent memory....

Thanks!
And the list of acquisitions of two Levy cards would not be complete with the addition of a Cohen card, an upgrade for my wife's collection. She was pretty happy, too.
