Default My video walk-through of the 2021 National

Decided to just walk around on Saturday, do some straight filming for an hour, show some cards off and also get perspective on what dealers thought of this show. Basically just trying to let whoever is watching get a feel for how this years show was. I will say that I noticed a lot more Basketball than in 2019. The lines all around were much longer - even at the snack bars/concession stands. The crowd was much younger. Lots of these kids selling to dealers and amongst themselves. There was noticeably a lot more females in the crowd than in previous years. Guessing a lot of husbands and boyfriends brought their girlfriends and wives with them. I can probably go on but just see for yourself.

Thanks. I get dizzy walking around myself. It's certainly a lot of ground to cover but hopefully it gives a glimpse into what it's like to walk around, get a feel for the items there and see it also from a dealers perspective. Oh, and I had to include the beer and food prices too since I haven't seen anyone cover that part of it

Excellent, sir. Looks like perhaps it was on a San Diego Comic Con size. Really get a feel for what it was like.

The funniest part of this video is as I'm watching young people looking through cards at a table, I'm thinking, "Yup, that's like me and my buds digging though stuff!!" But a moment later I see a bunch of balding old guys cluelessly wandering around and realize, "Actually, THAT is me and my buds these days," as a single tear slowly runs down my cheek.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for! I've never been to the National before and now I feel so satisfied after watching this whole video!

It looks like hockey made up about less than one-percent at the show and that's surprising considering the US has twenty-five NHL teams! Furthermore, the National was held in Chicago and the Hawks' have won three cups recently, and so I would've thought that hockey interest over there would be higher, but it doesn't look like it (based on your video!)

I did laugh out loud at 13:05 - women don't like to be recorded, especially while they are eating! And yes, I can totally understand why it was hard to take your camera off her!

30:49 was funny too. I have one more question and I will let you get back to your customers ... umm ... geez I forgot ...

And finally, the Gordie Howe game-used jersey at 54:00 was amazing! It would be insane to own something like that!

Thanks again!

Thank you for doing this and posting. Other than the Mantle and Mays at Heritage's booth, I didn't see a lot of signed vintage, unless I missed something. Is that normal for the National?

I’m sure there was some but I just didn’t focus on any of it. I ended up picking up a modern card (2011) and the signed 52 Mantle was a must in having to include it in the video. I saw two signed in fact at the show. But off the top of my head, I don’t recall any signed vintage - but I’m sure some tables did have.
