Default 1907 Chicago White Sox Spring Training Trip Original Photographs

Group of photos from the White Sox spring training trip to Mexico in March 1907. I had some other photos from this trip still on the scrapbook pages that I sold earlier this spring. These are some more photos I acquired from the same Chicago sportswriter collection.

Photos identified on the back in modern writing from when the person who owned these before me removed them from the scrapbook page and wrote what was on the caption which is generally the player’s name, the year 1907 and Mexico City . Also below is a picture of some newspaper articles about the trip that were in the scrapbook. Photos exhibit scrapbook removal.

First 3 photos are smaller in size and are $**SOLD** each in the following order
Billy Sullivan – was Sox catcher for several years. 3.25 inches tall
Hub Hart – played all three years of his career with the White Sox from 1905 to 1907. 3.25 inches tall
Lee Quillen – played both years of his career with the White Sox from 1906 to 1907. 3.5 inches tall

Ed Walsh wearing street clothes with his daughter. $3.5 inches tall. Price $55 shipped

Ed Walsh in uniform. 3.25 inches tall. Price $**SOLD**

White Sox Team in street clothes. Original scrapbook paper notation at bottom. 3.25 inches wide. Price $40 shipped.

Lee Tannehill and a Mexican player – 3.25 inches tall. Price $55 shipped

Doc White – 2 pictures of him in street clothes. One of him smoking a cigar. Larger photo 4.75 inches tall and smaller photo 3.5 inches tall. Price $25 for the pair shipped

Cecil Jones – This might be Fielder Jones as I could not find a player named Cecil Jones. 3.75 inches tall. Price $**SOLD**

The newspaper clipping that is in the middle of the three displayed in your post refers to "Fielder A. Jones, Mrs. Jones and Cecil Jones". According to the SABR biography of Fielder Jones, Cecil was his son, born in 1901. Clearly, the photo is not an image of Cecil, who would have been five or six years old. (It does appear that it could be Fielder.)
