Default 1951 Bowman RC Willie Mays PSA 6 and PSA 4 -Sold

I wish the cards had greater centering but they are what the are and there are many worse centered examples out there and with printer lines etc

Willie Mays PSA 4 Asking $3500 net to me Sold
Willie Mays PSA 6 Asking $8500 net to me Sold

Since a price is listed..anyone asking 'whats the lowest you can take' will be met with 'whats the highest you can offer'

Thanks for looking.

cards sold, if someone asks me who is new to the site and wants to know how much i want for these cards, i may ask them how much are they going to offer for the cards listed.(not saying they are still for sale)..maybe i contact the new owner if the offer isnt a lowball.....if offer is a lowball than maybe i say 'thanks for the fair offer but the cards are sold'...

I can speed this up a little, what is the highest you can offer? (while not verbatim, I think that is what the OP stated he would ask back of that question to him)

Tough crowd. Those seem like reasonable prices for an iconic and hot card. Good luck with your sale.

He is right when a price is listed it should be up to the potential buyer to make an offer if he wants a discount. For those sellers who refuse to list prices asking for one is reasonable.

Really Jesse? SMR price for a PSA 6 is $5200, he wants $8500 for an off centered card. Also, the hot run of top rookies has mainly been very high graded cards (8's and higher)

VCP shows this last one sold most recently for $15K a few weeks ago, albeit a better centered example:

Baffling Greg, but I saw the card. Perfectly centered, but bad wax stains on the back. SMR price for a 7 is $11,500, this card in a 6 sells for $15K, and PSA adjusts these SMR prices on a regular basis. Does not make any sense at all...

Agreed that most of the run on the rookies has been higher grade, but the Mantle and Mays have always held value well at the lower grades. And SMR? Who looks at SMR for high end cards? It's rarely accurate. A centered 6 just went for 15k. A 7 is sitting at over 19k with a couple of hours left. Not centered. 8k for a 6 will look like a bargain soon.

Fair enough. I'll make this simple mathematics. A PSA 6 Mays (supposedly) sold for $15K. Mantle is worth considerably more than double the SMR price of Mays ($11,500 vs. $5200). I have a PSA 6 Mantle that I would be more than happy to sell for $30K. Please email me for PPal info...

CMIZE- Seriously? its a b/s/t thread...i dont think its appropriate to comment negatively on b/s/t in most situations...i dont think i said anything in this thread for you to act like juvenile here and talking down a card price, all i did was put an asking price and list a card and you are acting inappropriately here and i think everyone woudl agree

i would think if someone is selling a cards in the 10k range, it would be polite to keep the schoolboy antics in another thread, unless you are schoolboy rowe...

Why not list your Mantle and we can discuss the aspects of a price you ask for (if you even put a price)...thats the future of b/s/t on net54?

Also if you going to quote SMR for key cards its a bit silly especially when you cant point to any listings that are selling a similar card for that ...

CMIZE is at it again.

Here we go again...everyone was quoting SMR on those green cobbs, and the 1952 Mays, and the 1952 PSA 7.5 banks...people ask why i bring those up..because history continues to repeat itself..i have another wiseguy bring up SMR , which shouldnt even be discussed on b/s/t by the way..

I guess Leon cant ask for more than SMR on this cards either...SMR is the only thing that matters apparently..

Since you seem to think SMR is so accurate I will offer you SMR + 25% for your 51 Mantle. Sight unseen. I will, of course, want to verify scans before transferring funds, but I can send tonight if you can ship tomorrow.

Please see post 18. I doubt your Mantle is centered well enough to justify the premium that the recent Mays got. If it is I will adjust my offer accordingly.

News Flash Jesse! Dont worry yourself about it! My point was SMR prices are only one of many guide lines in the value of a card. This is an off centered 6 with about a 60% premium over the SMR price. Please move on as I will as well. Last post from me on this subject....

there are far worse centered examples of the Mays than the ones listed here....

again why bring up SMR.....the price is also 30%+ less than what centered 6s have gone for ...but why are you taking another jab at the price in your LAST post of the thread.its a b/s/t thread...its yet another inappropriate comment by you......CMIZE loves his SMR.......

funny you compare prices here to SMR....when you list a 8OC..you compare it to a 8 price wise......or when its a SGC 8 card you sellling you compare it to a PSA 8 Jessie is comparing a PSA 6 with a PSA 6, yes there are differences for centering and the pricing reflects that..the pricing doesnt reflect your beloved SMR though.

you obviously have no interest in the Mays..so why bother to post....lets see if you keep your word that is the LAST post by you here...

that Centered 7 that Jessie was referring to just sold for 27.2k, whats SMR?

Kevin you antagonized and I didn't help the situation. There should be no back and forth about historical prices UNLESS the OP starts the conversation in BST areas, everyone here knows that. But this got out of hand and my apologies for my part on that. No members should interfere especially in a negative way on the BST. thanks

FWIW... I sold my PSA 6 51 Bowman Mays a couple of weeks ago on eBay for $8k. I think he's $8,500 starting price is fair based on the last 2 sales ($15k, $8k).

I don't know why my sale was not recorded by VCP.

Good luck!

It just wierd out of all the b/s/ts of all the starting asking prices...that my thread received the most criticism when there are exact sales history that more than support it. You will see cards that there are no prior sales within $1000s of what a guy is asking yet nobody is quoting SMR or providing negative inputs on their cards... Plus i have a history of selling cards at great prices when just looking back a month after the sale et which i have cited and net54 members enjoy that.(green cobbs, 1952 Mays, Jackie, Banks 7.5, Kaline psa7) i do believe this 1951 Bowman Mays will be added to that list.....

Can you please tell me in English what you just said?? Holy cow...

so your 'witty' comeback about the cards you said were way overpriced but the market disagreed and they sold in 4 days is that the buyer is an idiot....please list the buyers on your sold listings and i will in turn...thanks

Where did I say the "potential" buyer was an idiot? Are you crazy or what?

right a blind squirrel represents a very intelligent buyer....yeah im crazy not to know that..

If you want to keep going back and forth here, Im going to start quoting SMR on your b/s/t and post any past sales on comparable cards you are selling, that may deter people in buying your cards....basically doing what you attempted to do here on this thread..... its your call...

I was talking about you! Oh my God you beat all I've ever seen. Having said that, take this offline if you want. It is not fair to other members viewing the BST. My email is: kmize1999@yahoo.com

Nice cards at fair prices tend to sell quickly. Congrats on the sale.
