I believe the example that ended at over $19K you mention was graded a 5.

Was there a 4 in this auction? If so I couldn't locate it.

That's what I saw too. I was hoping 4's weren't going for 19k.

We discussed that super centered graded cards cross over the next grade or 2...when talking about the few iconic cards....there will be many if not all 5s that sell for less than 19k ..

there are graded cards and centered graded cards....almost need to make a new category

It's 55 45 to 60 40 or so side to side no? Left border looks bigger to me anyhow.

yes its not 50/50 but for the 1951 mantle is probably top 5% best centered plus no print lines and problems with registration....the POP for a 50/50 centering psa 4 probably 2 or less but who knows maybe even zero...

Could have been a bidding war not among collectors but people who think it bumps, with our without help.

its an old grade.....but thats part of the value of the card....lots of listings where selller says due for a bump....normally nobody agrees with that...but sometimes people do and the value is increased.

I saw you are looking for a 1951 Mays PSA 5 ONLY. There is a 51 Mays (3.5) on PWCC right now that blows away any five you will find.
