You forgot the "who cares" option. And everyone wins once this game is over. Finally the end of criminals on the Fooseball field for a year.

The Denver defense left Brady bloody and bruised. That's not a figure of speech, he was literally bloody and bruised. If the Denver D can do to Cam what they did to Brady (and I feel certaint that they can), Denver wins.

Denver 34
Panthers 20

Cam is just slightly more mobile than Brady. I don't see it. 31-14 Panthers.

Absolutely he is. You know that. I know that. Everyone else knows that too including Wade Phillips. You don't think Phillips is going to have a plan for that?

Cam may be more mobile, but I think most of us would agree that if we we're coaching a Super Bowl team and we had to pick between Brady and Cam, we would pick Brady. Brady, even though less mobile, is a better QB than Cam. My point is if the Denver D can beat Brady, they certainly can beat Cam. Most didn't give the Broncos a chance against NE either.

Carolina presents a challenge this Denver defense hasn't seen. Denver's offense just isn't good enough to put up enough points to make it game.

Not to get political here, but I found this question posed by the moderators during
last night's GOP debate to be a ridiculous question. In the big scheme of things
how significant can the outcome be, and by answering this question by any of the
candidates truly sway a voter one way or the other?

If the game is close, the refs will make some calls in the Broncos favor. Giving Manning his due exit and fame and glory.
Now is time for KITTEN BOWL then 2:30pm est is PUPPY BOWL!!!

Cam is a different kind of QB than Brady. They haven't faced anything like him all year. He has run for more TD's himself than most of the leagues teams feature backs!! I don't think they have any answers for him. If they let him run wild, he kills them. If they focus on him, he picks them apart. Carolina in a rout.

Carolina wins, 38-13.

The Patriots didn't adjust two weeks ago. They kept the same silent snap count which allowed Miller and Ware to pin their ears back and attack. Plus, Brady doesn't move. Cam can easily run for 20.

I would have voted for "who cares" as well, just for the record. I'm more interested in the Puppy Bowl and the only reason I watch any of the Super Bowl is because the tv is in the same room as the food.

Since "who cares" wasn't an option, I'll say Carolina wins six concussions to four, pulling the game out late when two of their defenders miss a tackle and collide.

Both teams have excellent D. I expect Cam to still be able to hold his own, while the Panthers destroy the Manning noodle!

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!

I can't fathom that some people thought the Carolina offense was better than the Denver defense.

I still thought Carlolina looked better on paper and could win, but that Denver would find a way to win. That was one of the better all around defensive games I've seen. DBs for both teams were on each throw, and tackling. Linebackers flying all over the field, and that pass rush, wow.

Peyt didn't do much statistically, but think his value/leadership exceeded that. This was an occasion where "game manager" was exactly what Denver needed. Happy for the old guy. What a crazy, trying year it's been for him, and to likely end his career on this note is amazing. Denver's D won't be going anywhere, so will be interesting to see if Blake O can keep this going.

Further emphasizes the "can they do it?" again question. I used his first name because I can't begin to spell his last name... and even got that wrong. Point is, this D is unreal, QB or not.

Well-called, David. The Deadly Denver Defense gave Cam a "cam-bam". That late game crunch tackle of Cam was something, which only added to the long, long list of incidents that the Denver defense dealt the vaunted Newton. Wish the entire Denver defense could win the MVP, but only one man wins that and he deserved it. Of course, all the Broncs will be gettin' a whale of a bling ring. ---Brian Powell

The way he was just standing there immobile the whole second half, and refusing to dive after his fumble, you have to wonder what was wrong with him. I hope backing away from that scrum does not end up defining him.

No excuse for him, but think he saw his guy flying in from the opposite direction and pulled up, as opposed to banging with 1-2 big guys coming head on. Similar to a receiver going alligator arms over the middle.

If he's fixing a game, can't imagine it's being on a play like that.. that depended on other things happening before and after he fumbled. As a QB, all you need to do is throw incompletions on 3rd down, and maybe not check out of plays when need be. That said, don't think for a second he, or any Panther was throwing this game. Denver's D took it from them.

No, Bobby is just bummed at losing, the idea of a fix is pretty ridiculous. Still, I don't understand why he was imitating Brady in the second half. Poor play calling too, the only chance you have against that defense is to shake things up with some quick hitters, or for the QB to scramble more aggressively.

Newton, Mr. 59.7% completion percentage, pick apart the #1 defense?

Newton isn't a good enough passer. I said it on other forums, and if I'd seen this post before the game, I'd have said it here. If it comes down to Cam Newton passing the ball, the Panthers had a chance, but they were not going to overwhelm the Broncos. The only question was could the Broncos defense do any scoring with the ball? They got in the endzone once, and that was enough with Cam consistently overthrowing receivers, and fumbling the ball away.

He's a petulant man-child. I'm so glad he lost. Seeing him throw a mini temper tantrum in the endzone was glorious. He's got a lot of maturing to do. He's got the physical tools, he needs to really work on his accuracy. That comes from practice, and watching film. Will he put in that work? That remains to be seen.

Jesus he got hit late and expressed a little frustration most of which was due to his subpar game. What of it? Man-child??

Back to the topic of Brad, Blake, Brock, Bob... whoever it is "O", I did a quick scan over on Football Reference and saw that you'd have to go back to 1980 to find a SB winning team who's QB's had a negative TD to INT differential.

It's pretty amazing what this team was able to accomplish almost entirely with its defense (I am not a Bronco fan). It is even more so when contrasted with the video game/FFL dream offensive numbers they put up 2 years ago before getting smacked by the Seahawks. Elway and Co got it done.

I'm talking about the play in the endzone where he got knocked down, and kicked his legs and arms out. It wasn't a late hit. Go to Youtube, and enter in Cam Newton tantrum. There are already several different videos of him doing it.

Did you see his post game press conference? Steve Young and Deion Sanders have both called him out for it, for not acting like a professional. He gave three minutes to the reporters, gave one and two word responses, and then left. He's smiling and demonstrative when he's winning, but when he's faced with some adversity, or disappointment, he shows no class whatsoever. He's done it in the past, and he's still doing it now. We just didn't see it much this year because they were winning.

There's winning and losing with grace. Cam didn't demonstrate any tonight, and he is rightfully being held to the fire. You can bet that if Denver had lost, Peyton Manning would be there showing the class he's always played with.

It's pretty amazing what this team was able to accomplish almost entirely with its defense (I am not a Bronco fan). It is even more so when contrasted with the video game/FFL dream offensive numbers they put up 2 years ago before getting smacked by the Seahawks. Elway and Co got it done.
Elway completely revamped that defense. I'm certainly no Broncos fan, either (especially considering they're the only team to beat Green Bay in the Super Bowl), but I have to give credit to the organization. Now, the task becomes keeping the Broncos as an elite team. They've spent a lot of money, and it's going to hit them cap-wise, soon.

The Panthers should be ok. Newton had a terrible game, but he also didn't get much help from his receivers. While he overthrew at least three of his wide outs, they also had to contend with two or three drops I can think of. He's got all the tools, he just needs to mature a bit. They have a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball, but they need a good, solid possession receiver.

One thing that was a first tonight. John Elway became the first person to win a Super Bowl ring as both a player and a general manager.

Peyton Manning is the first quarterback to win a Super Bowl with two different teams, and Gary Kubiak is the first head coach to win a Super Bowl with a team that he played for.

I'm with you re- Broncs, though never had the angst of a SB loss. Niners took them down 55-10!! Elway always bugged me in his younger days though.. but I totally respect how he's molded this team. He got close via incredible O, saw the team's vulnerable areas, and went all in the solidify his D.

Re- Newton, he used to really bug me for many of the reasons he bugged others, but he slowly won me over this year. I agree with you in regards to his outward persona though. He's amazing and charismatic when he's on top, but he give him some adversity and he goes into the gutter. You don't ever need to like/accept losing, but as a QB you need to show your teammates character/leadership after a loss... and you especially need do so for your teammates during a game in which you still have a chance!!! (dive for the fumble man!)!!

That stat they showed where Carolina hadn't trailed a minute during the postseason just seemed like a bad omen. It's good to trail, get beaten up a little and fight your way back. I hope he grows up a bit after this loos, and hope he gets another chance down the road.

As is, congrats Broncos and Bronco fans

Great points, Bill. If anyone watches football and/or knows cam's personality, they will know what you said is the truth. He's a great ball player, but he's failing as a classy player. Defense wins championships and Denver proved that tonight.

I think it's funny how a lot of people thought it was going to be a blowout based on what Carolina has done lately, but forgot to take into account that Denver has the #1 ranked defense and they just kicked Brady in the teeth. Plain and simple, the Broncos dominated up front...the same reason the Giants won their last two Super Bowls.

+1 .. To me, Cam is not a good role model for kids and from the interview I saw I would say he is quite the racist too. (just my impression)

It's funny how the gap is closing on this poll.

I voted Denver on day one only because I can't stand Cam Newton's attitude.

JJ Watt is just as immature. Anyone see his acceptance speech? No of course not because no one watches the NFL awards show. But seriously, and I am not going down the race arena but Everyone piles on Cam but JJ and Gronk are just as immature.

Edited to add: There isn't a QB who can be elite without protection. Ill be the first to admit I thought he'd be a bust, but I was wrong. I would take him over everyone in the league except Brady, Ben, Aaron, Drew and possibly Luck

JJ Watt? Seriously? He's won 3 Defensive Player of the Year Awards. He was having fun at his acceptance speech. He's one of the humblest players in the NFL. Don't hate just because the Panthers got their teeth kicked down their throat.

I agree that Cam has an attitude and he should have been more professional at the post game conference. But, I can understand how he felt after losing the biggest game of his career and maybe he just needed a little time to cool down.
I am not making excuses for him but just trying to understand why he acted that way.

I am a Bills fan so no dog in this fight. I am just saying he is an amazing player and just as immature as most guys him and Cam's age.

So for Watt it's "He's having fun" but for Cam its "He's immature and smiles too much and doesn't care".

Watt is a cocky ass who stooped to a twitter fight with Tennessee's backup qb. Then on a stage with potentially kids watching he made that dumbass remark instead of taking the "humble road". Yeah he's Super Humble.
