Topps FINALLY got it right in 1961! Jim Taylor LSU All-American 1957. Packers second round draft pick and 15th pick over-all. 1958-1966 GB Packers. 1967 expansion New Orleans Saints. 4 NFL Championships. NFL HOF 1976.

The "other" Jim Taylor also appeared on a 1961 Topps CFL card. He played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 1959 and 1960.

How can that 1959 card even be considered his rookie card if they picture the wrong player?

Default I corrected Topps

Being a Packer fan as a kid, I hated the Taylor error. A year or two ack I made my own custom correction.

That's an error card, too. The Packers logo is backward--as it is on all of the Packers cards in the 1961 Fleer set.

I know! Great thread Larry - this always bothered me. Especially since Taylor plays my favorite position and I like collecting rookie cards.

For those interested, the PSA registry HOF rookie set follows along and includes the card with the wrong player pictured, but I did research this once and there is a Packer registry set of rookie players that includes a card with Jim Taylor actually pictured.

I'd vote for 61 Topps or Fleer. Not sure how much impact we can have though

Here is a link to the #1 Packers Team HOF set (the collector included really nice scans!) and it includes the 61 Topps: http://www.psacard.com/psasetregistr...t.aspx?s=78332
