Card appears diamond cut to me, which I would think would prevent the assigned grade.

Agreed. The top right and bottom left corners fit snugly in the case, while the top left and bottom right fall short.

I agree with Brian. It looks hacked, not factory diamond-cut. The top right looks like it slopes up to the point also.

Just one man's opinion, but I find the shape and cut of that 8 to be quite unappealing. Perhaps that does occur naturally, if it is not trimmed. I can say for a fact that there are examples of this card which fill the holder completely, and are square. I would take a lower grade example that is full-sized and square for a couple grand over that 8 all day, but that's just me. One can spend less money, get a more attractive card, and have peace of mind it isn't trimmed.

Exactly; and that fullness is no fluke. Here is another that fills the holder much more than the 8 above or the other 8 below.
