Never seen a signature like that, but his hatred of signing is legendary.

Here is my Steiner Certified for comparison for the letters.

From everything I have read it sounds like he was a real jerk at the signing and was just giving out the P E squiggle

That's pretty bad. Makes one wonder if Ewing signed those or if someone at Steiner went rogue in order to complete orders.

I would definitely look into that option. That signature is atrocious.

You've got to be kidding. That is completely unacceptable for a "paid" autograph.

I'll ask for a refund too because its not worth keeping in my collection and when you do try to sell it no one wants to buy it!

They did have a private tutor at Georgetown. I will give them that. She was a battleaxe. I saw her once while strolling through the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston. The team was walking in the door and someone asked one of the players for an autograph. She started screaming like a banshee to get away from the players.

I think it comes more from the John Thompson School of Arrogance.

Supposedly Steiner is going to refund everyone who got the crappy version of his sig, and will allow those people to send in an item for free for their next signing with Ewing

I just fell out of my chair with that response. Do you have that in writing?

I would file a claim with the credit card company if they don't give you a refund. Hopefully you used an Amex.

Based on post from another board, this is true and you are to contact Steiner directly (rumor has it Brendan himself is returning some of these calls).

So the scenario is they already got Ewing once with a horrible crappy signing and since he was horrible and crappy they decided to pay him again and get another signing?? Usually in America a job poorly done does not get rewarded with another job.

Not quite, in December's initial signing, Ewing literally got tired and left in the middle of the signing and his agent rescheduled another signing for January (postponed to February).

That logic doesn't apply to the government or sports.

Glad to hear they're making it right at least.

yea even the rookie cards with the crappy sigs are going for $100+, so people are not losing any money at least (price of card itself).

Got tired? I wonder if that was from holding up the chip on his shoulder?

Ironically only one thing can make a Patrick Ewing card uglier, that being his signature on it.
