E136- Home Run Kisses Reprints

These are a first for me. Until now I hadn't seen any Home Run Kisses reprints. They sort of remind me of my test? E136 Home Run Kiss....

One of the hobby first 'counterfeit' problems involved Home Run Kisses, among other sets, and took place during the very early 1970's. Those examples were somewhat cruder than the recently offered cards. I've seen some that appear close to the Ebay examples offered (as real cards) in the last decade. One should assume these days that anything paper can be scanned and printed onto paper. If it can be done with $100 bills, it can be done with virtually anything. Know who you are dealing with and what you're buying in advance. Ebay & Craigslist are welcome platforms for fraud.

I have a strip of 6 E136 Home Run Kisses cards which is a reproduction and I believe these 3 cards have been cut from one of these strips.
The original forgeries Mark is referring to were made by a woman whose name escapes me and the cards were black and white and printed on thinner stock paper. They made their way in to the hobby many years ago.

Janet Hellein of Butch & Jan Antiques in Newark, Delaware. She also was responsible for Old Judges and E-121 style cards (including Henry Johnson's). Those counterfeits ,which are now 40 years old, occasionally turn up on the market
