Default 1916 M101-4/5 ruth question

hi
i have a question about this card. I don t know anything about this set and this ruth card except it is considered rookie card.

What is the difference in the m101-4 and the m101-5 .... one is more valuable than the other.... one is more considered rookie than the other ?

Any info will be appreciated
thanks !

I believe M101-5 is slightly earlier than M101-4. You can tell the difference between the sets because some players are slightly different in each set. However, for Ruth, there is no way to tell the difference because they look exactly the same in each set. The TPG's pretty much put M101-4 or M101-5 on the card arbitrarily, I believe, for Ruth. Therefore, for Ruth, the values for M101-4 and M101-5 are equal. (I think there are som back combinations that are only in one set and not the other, I believe.)

From the 2005 REA auction, it includes a very nice write up about the Ruth and the m101-4/m101-5 issues as well.
