Default storage of valuable collectibles

I have some pretty unique sports memorablilia items and I was wondering if people store that kind of stuff in a house safe or a safe deposit box. They items are not large so would fit in either. Also do any of you have your collections insured? I have so many different items that insuring and proving what I have seems overwhelming. Any advice?

Safe Deposit Box at a bank. Very, very easy decision. Best money ever spent for the peace of mind.....and in my area and probably most others, they are around $100 a yr...even for large ones. Mine just went up to $120 a yr after several years. They are great deals imo. And this is coming from someone with a monitored alarm, 1200 lb safe in his house. Good luck.
