Default Babe Ruth Hat Id????

I bought this hat off Ebay and I was wondering if someone could help me with who put this hat out and a year? It is a wool hat with 6 panels. On the inside it has leather or leather like band. One of the panels on the inside is silk and has a picture of the Babe and a signature. I know that Quaker Oats put out some caps but I’m not sure if this is one of them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Default not the same

I am not a cap or uniform guy but the one shown in that ad is quite different from the original one being asked about. Look a the curving of the letters on the one in the ad compared to the straight line lettering of the one on the cap in the original post. Again, I could absolutely be incorrect but I don't like the looks of the original cap posted. To me it looks like something made to look old. Maybe I am just cynical from being on the board too long?

Default Thanks for the information

Ray Van & Leon,
Thanks for the information and the opinion on the hat. I had no knowledge of where the hat may have been from even it was real. This adds something to were it may have come from. I know there are many items out there that might be fake, and I'm no expert but it looks old. Either way it looks good in my collection. I can only hope that it is real. If anyone else has an opinion good or bad or more information on it please let me hear from you. All you guys are the best! Thanks

Leon is correct on the differences, but I think it still could be the real thing. Production changes sometimes differ from the ads.

The font of the letters on the hat you have look too modern and differ from the ad, however why would someone got out of their way to fake this of all things? This is a tough one.

Default It is a tuff one?

When I bought this hat I knew about this Quaker Oats Hat and Ad. It was advertised as a Quaker Oats hat. I thought it was a hat used another year by Quaker Oats. Now that I see the ad that Ray Van posted I'm thinking something completely different. I went ahead and bought that ad, because if it is real to have the ad to go with it makes it even better. I have never seen one like it.

Default Quaker Oats Ad

In taking a closer look at the Quaker Oats ad, the font on the hat looks nothing like the logo and font on the real Quaker Oats hat. Maybe jcmtiger has a point in that production is different the the artwork in the ad.

It just looks like to much work to fake that hat, especially the inside with the Picture and brand name.

If I was voting I woud say good buy, but that's just me.
