T213. Tough card. Approaching rare. Either it is real or a homemade copy from a real card. Seems legit but hard to tell without having it in hand.

Ask for a much clearer scan. The back looks like a home-made fake, especially that lower right-hand corner - doesn't look natural. If you had it in hand, you could tell in 3 seconds.

I agree with Scott. The middle wrinkles look a lot the aged reproductions that were selling on eBay a few months ago...I've never seen wrinkles exactly like that on a legit tobacco card. Edges don't look right either...but hey, I could be wrong

The wrinkles are consistent with a reproduction. I bet if you hold it to even a dim light you can see the opposing side image easily. The darkness around the edges is consistent with someone attempting to give the card an aged appearance. Doesn't look good to me.

Default scan

The scans appear to be made while the card is in a penny sleeve so they aren't real clear. I would want to hold the card in my hand and look at it with a loupe before I make a final decision, but it sure looks real to me.

Rick

Default Idea:

Should a poll be added to this thread and moved to the main forum?

Just so this doesn't happen again, take a look at some of the gigantic T206 detail blow-ups on the 'color' thread on the main forum. Then loupe yours and compare - you'll be able to spot obvious differences.

If I get some time today, I'll create a reprint and show the differences under a 10X. It's not a tough thing to learn - just takes having it pointed out once.

In the meantime, I'm just too busy sitting in a coffee shop listening to reggae with my dog
