Default T206 Back "Grid"

Thanks to Chris Browne (atx840) for creating this really cool jpeg grid for me! as some of you may remember, I used to have a very comprehensive T206 rare back collection. i sold all of them several years ago to get into memorabilia (game used bats, autographs, etc)...well prior to this summer i got the T206 bug again, and have slowly been rebuilding the back set. for now, i just wanted a representation of each brand (sans Cobb). after just getting the Lenox & Cycle 460, i now have one of each brand. thanks for looking!

Would be cool to see other's back collections here!

That's a nice bunch!

And you did it in less than a year? I've been pecking away at it for way too long and I'm still 2 brands short. and 6 away from one of each back.

I'd put together a scan like yours, but it wouldn't be anywere near as nice

Default t206 backs

This is probably the thread to ask this question. I recently requested a PSA registry set of T206 basic backs. In my request I asked for just one example of each back (15 total). I explained that the flip on the card would have to have the back listed to fit into the set. This would encourage resubmissions of older graded cards. This is the response I received from PSA:

Your request for a 1911-11 T206 Basic Backs set has been received. Currently, we already have a T206 basic set that will allow any back designation for a particular player. We also have a T206 Master set that requires all backs for the particular players (new backs are added as graded).

Thank you,
Cosetta Robbins
Assistant Set Registry Manager

I am not sure I explained the set clearly enough for them to understand my request. Any ideas on how I can word this request so they understand?

Default T206 Basic Back set

In my "quest" to get a Basic Back set listed on the PSA regristry I have had several discussions with PSA. I requested a 15 card basic back set in which you just need one brand (without the variations within the brand) to fill the slot. For example, any American Beauty (350 or 460, with or w/o frame) would fill the American Beauty slot, Any Sweet Cap card would fill the Sweet Cap slot, etc. It looks like they are going to do it, but the last question they asked was, "should the Cobb back card be listed"? I say no because I think there are those who disagree as to wheather it is a T206 or not. I went on to say that it would be included in a "Master Back" set if it were possible for PSA to have one. The reason there can be no master back set would be because PSA doesn't distinguish between the various series or factory numbers of designs within each brand on their flips. Any other opinions on the Cobb being included in a basic set?

I for one wish that PSA would put all back information on the flip (Brand, Factory, etc.).

I would keep the Cobb out of a Basic Back set for two reasons. One is that there's significant disagreement whether it's truly part of the T206 set, as you mentioned. The second reason is that including it would make it impossible for nearly anyone to complete that set.

Am thrilled to hear that PSA is creating this set. Thanks for helping make that happen.
