Default "csa 8.5 = psa 6.5"..??!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/Ty-Cobb-T206-Bat...item33641372b6

This looks familiar, not the first time I've seen this card. Love the opinion of grade cross-over stated as fact.

I thought most CSA graded cards come back trimmed from SGC, PSA, BVG?

Default Csa

I've cracked out a few CSA's and submitted to PSA. About half were trimmed, and about half were graded but down 1-2 grades. This Cobb would be an enormous gamble.

I agree. Would look nice in an SGC AUT holder though.

Many moons ago I bought 3 CSA graded cards. They all 3 crossed to SGC at the exact same grade. That was several generations of holders ago (back when they looked very similar to the PSA holder).

The fact that a T206 Cobb in 8.5 is only at $830 suggests a serious lack of bidder confidence. A PSA 8.5 would be many multiples higher.

I once purchased 3 CSA N162's, and they came back from SGC as rebacked.

I am pretty sure I have seen that card before too.

I bought a CSA 8 last year for about the same money as a nice SGC A, which is a good thing since it was a SGC A!

Over the years I am 3 for 5 trimmed when cracking and those.

Hope all is well,
Bob

seller won't accept a return on the card...that's how confident he is it'd cross.

Default Csa

The first link is the one we are referring to. Their website hasn't been updated since 2007. They may be out of business.

The 2nd one is a Canadian company. Never heard of them in the pre-war market. There used to be a grading company called KSA, that was from Canada and did some pre-war baseball grading. Perhaps KSA and CSA are connected somehow.
