Default 1963-65 houston colt 45 blackface nodder

Every so often a wonderful rare and unique item becomes available to the public. I have been so fortunate to be able to offer such an item... The HOUSTON COLT 45 BLACK FACE NODDER represents the "rarest of the rare"!

This nodder is part of the 1963-65 black face series. All the dolls in this series are considered hard to find, but this doll is by far the toughest. Due to the racial climate of this country in the 1960's, not many of the African-American dolls were popular and therefore not produced or sold in large quantities. Then consider that this is made of paper-mache and kids generally played with them (bad idea); very few of these survived the years. Don't forget that the Houston Colts were only in existance for three years (1962-64) before they became the Astros. Houston being the southern most Baseball new franchise apparently did not sell many of these dolls.

By all accounts there are less than 50 known examples of this Houston Colt 45, making this doll one of the "Holy Grails" of the hobby. This nodder depicts the "Boy Head" with him holding the pistol in his right hand. He stands approximately 6" tall. This item is probably in the highest grade possible with wonderful luster, no cracks, no hairlines and no cosmetic surgery. Both decals are fully intact without any crackling. This is 100% original and is graded NRMT/MT+. The doll was issued with two different distinct faces. One a more serious face and this - the "happy face / boy-face" version. Because of the rarity of this doll, there is no premium placed on either, but many collectors prefer this more up-beat face variation. You would be extremely hard pressed to find a better representation! Please do not miss this opportunity to own this classic doll. It would surely be the feature doll of most collections.
Condition: NRMT/MT+
