Default Obak Uncut Sheets?

Hello everyone,

We just got consigned to us a 1911 Obak uncut sheet of (176) cards. I know REA had one in their last sale, any others known out there?

Leon has a few strips that have 5 or so, but I forget what year. (1910 or 1911) I know of a proof strip of 5 1909s in addition to the complete set that was sold in REA.

I have heard of large sheets of either 1910 or 1911 Obaks from a longtime PCL collector.

Are they four cards high?

Search the old Net54 you might find a discussion about them.

Default these 1910's

I don't know of any others, besides the ones mentioned, but feel sure there are more than we have listed.

I always feel there are more collectibles, including cards, "out there" than we think .

I never saw that sheet in REA.

Wow, 5k? That had to have been a good investment for whoever bought it.

Hello everyone,

I saw and wrote the sheet yesterday. It is absolutely extraordinary. The consignor proved conclusively that Obak's were printed at Schmidt Lithography in San Francisco. The sheet is comprised of (8) 21-card vertical strips and (1) 11-card horizontal strip at the bottom. There are (88) different players. (85) cards have duplicates while (3) cards (including Weaver) have triplicates. The consignor had no idea what he had. He told me one of his sons used to take the sheet to school for "show and tell".
