Default T206 Backs Risers and Fallers 2009

I've been noticing a few backs that took a turn for the
better recently and a couple that have dropped in demand
and was wondering if others had similar perceptions.

I would consider these few better off now than
they were a year ago:

UZIT
American Beauty 460
Hindu Red
Hindu Brown
Sovereign 460

As far as those not doing quite as well I
really can only think of one for sure and a lot
of it is probably just my personal preference.

Piedmont 350-460 Fact 42

Anyone have any backs you feel had their ups
and their downs the past year or so?

I agree with what you're noticing Frank. One back that is not as rare as the ones mentioned, but I feel is underrated, is El Principe De Gales.

I've noticed on a few occasions when collectors who have completed (or came close to completing) the T206 set,and included how many of each back they've acquired,it seems as though the EPDG #'s are quite low.

I understand EPDG is somewhere in the middle of the list of tough backs, and it's not all that hard to find an EPDG back for a decent price--but I bet if you tried to do an EPDG only backs set,you wouldn't have an easy time!!!

And I don't understand what's happening with the Piedmont Factory 42's.Are collectors losing a little interest in the Piedmont 42's?

I have always felt that the carolina Brights back is underrated too. I've only ever owned a handful. I think the last one I bought was a Jimmy Lavender several years back.
El Principe backs are becoming harder for me to locate too

I also believe that the El Principe cards are harder to find in the later series (460 only being very tough), so that is a whole group of cards with probably very few examples of each floating around.

In the collection of 300+ cards that I bought, only 2 were EPDG.

One is Slow Joe Doyle and the other is Mordecai Brown.

Also, might just be the 2 I have but it looks like EPDG's stain fairly easily.

I wonder if the ones packed with pectoral paper stain more easily? Isn't that a brown paper?

Wonkas EPDG look great. I will try and post my 2 later in the evening. Mine have much more browning, possibly from age as opposed to tobacco.

A few more...

I had quite a few of these in my find as a kid, and I've also bought them over the years as I think it's one of the cooler backs. Let's see yours..

Beautiful EPDG's all! Here are mine.

I'm of the opinion that AB350 / no frame backs don't get the love that they deserve.

Default Piedmont

I think the reason for the Piedmont Fac. 42's falling in value/desirability is that...they are still a Piedmont. In the T206 world Piedmont is vanilla. The addition of a different factory number doesn't get the motor running like a totally different back which include (for some) neverbeforeseen colors and fonts. Just my thoughts...
