Default Anyone else get this e-mail from Scott and Doreen Susor?

Hi Steve,

We hope you had a great summer and we want to take
this opportunity to once again express our appreciation
for your business. Thank you for being a terrific customer!

As you are probably aware, many sports card sellers
have left eBay over the past couple of years, due to eBay's
unjustified fee increases, oppressive policy changes and
what appears to be an unrelenting campaign to alienate
smaller sellers and force them off of eBay. We have held
out as long as we could, hoping things would change.

Now, we have decided that it is time to leave eBay. We
considered several alternatives and have settled on going
with a web site of our own. For several years we have
owned the internet domain www.BaseballCardsUSA.com
but have kept it parked. It has now been activated and
we will resume our PSA card auctions there starting in
October.

The format of our auctions will remain the same with 12
cards for a given year being auctioned three or four
nights each week. We will continue to focus on bringing
you some of the toughest "Low Pop" commons that
you're looking for to help complete your sets. And you
will continue to receive superior packaging in commercial
grade boxes and quick shipment of your cards.

What will change? First and foremost, we will return to
an "old school" style of auction -- that being the SEALED
BID FORMAT. No longer will you have to worry about
increasing your bid as the auction proceeds, nor will you
have to worry about somebody sniping or out-sniping
you in the last few seconds. Everybody submits their bid
via email and the highest bid at the deadline wins the card.
Its as simple as that.

The other change we also think you will like -- NO CHARGE
FOR SHIPPING, DELIVERY CONFIRMATION AND
INSURANCE. Because we will no longer be paying eBay
fees, we have decided to pass some of that savings on to
you. When you win a card, your winning bid is your total
owed. All cards will -- as always -- be shipped with delivery
confirmation and full value insurance.

We will continue our practice of sending out a notification
email each time we list 12 cards and we will continue to
accept mailed payments by check, money order or
cashier's check and also online payments via PayPal. We
hope to have our first group of cards up for auction shortly
so please bookmark our new web site:

www.BaseballCardsUSA.com

If you would like to be removed from our email list now, or
at any time in the future, just email back that request and
we will remove you immediately.

Once again, thank you for your past patronage and we
look forward to doing more business with you via our new
web site!

Sincerely,
Scott & Doreen Susor
Baseball Cards USA
Susor Enterprises, Inc.

Ahh the good old days - so glad I won't need to worry...

Perhaps he also faults ebay for selling him trimmed cards.

Susor is the guy that goes in front of the judge at his sentencing for killing his parents -- and asks for leniency because he's an orphan.

And if you're the winning bidder, you also no longer have to worry about your winning bid being only one bidding increment higher than the runner up. Why pay only 5-10% more than the runner up, when you can pay 150% more. Yippee.

Default email bids..

Ok,
so we are letting a known trimmer/scammer now control the prices of the cards by bidding via email..

His next email will say "To make it easier for you to pay, all you have to do is supply us with your credit card and bank account information, we will automatically debit your preferred method of payment and ship your card promptly at the end of the auction."

Scott and Doreen Susor..

Susor claims it was his decision to leave ebay. Not the other way around. Anyone want action on that claim?

Default from the very long Markel report thread

"Susor's eBay registration was pulled last week, which means he's no longer doing business on the Internet flea market, at least not under his own name. Spokeswoman Evonne Gomez declined to say if Susor had been banished because of The Markel Report. "I can't give specifics on this account because of privacy issues," Gomez said. "But the activity outlined on Net54 would not be tolerated by eBay.

"We have a very solid relationship with law-enforcement," Gomez added. "We take these kinds of allegations seriously."

Maybe it was a mutual agreement when ebay allegedly told him to leave?

Kicked off Ebay. Left Ebay. Semantics....

Anthony -- that's one of my favorite movies; I think I've memorized all the lines.

As for Susor, if he ever thought of suing Dan for his report he better hope that he didn't lie about how he 'left' ebay because that would make for a hilarious bit of impeachment at his deposition, i.e. that even after getting caught by Dan he would still have no problem lying to the public... But I'm sure Susor isn't that stupid to have lied about that. I find that mobile DJs who practice their trade at swingers clubs are usually pretty sharp.

Granted I'm sure that those connected within the hobby aren't really the people for whom that email was intended, but does Scott even realize how much of a D-nozzle he looks like to people like us that know the story (thanks to Dan) when he tries to "spin" like that? Guess he has to try to keep whatever dumb customers he has left.

That's really odd. I never got that e-mail. I guess I need to check with my internet provider to make sure that there haven't been any glitches in the system.

Default Hey, what do you know - the website is up....

I just had a chance to peruse their website and just looked at their "About Us" section and they were nice enough to share their business model regarding the justification for starting this new website instead of selling on eBay.

"Over the past year or so, we feel that eBay has made some significantly negative changes to it's business model, affecting both buyers and sellers. Specifically, eBay continues to increase its fees while providing less product and service. Additionally, eBay continues to make it more difficult on smaller sellers and on all buyers with increasingly oppressive rules and policies. It became impossible for us to justify the cost and restrictions of selling on eBay."

http://www.baseballcardsusa.com/aboutus.htm

I wonder what "oppressive rules and policies" they were referring to?
