Default Help me remember a book name

I read a post a week or two ago in which someone recommeded a book about a guy who admired Christy Mathewson.

Can anyone help me out with the name of that book?

A lot of people admired Matty. Could you be thinking of The Celebrant?

Jeff, did you read The Celebrant, by Eric Rolfe Greenberg??? If so, what did you think?

Tony, once you've read it I'd like to know what you think of the book.

Mr. Greenberg has written what I believe to be one of the finest baseball novels ever. And he puts the reader right into the days of when our dear little tobacco cards and caramel cards were reaching the public. I may well dig out my copy and read it again!

Thank you, Jeff!!!!

See, Tony, this is one fine book. It is a sleeper, almost no one has heard of it. When someone started telling me how great it was I just couldn't believe them... I thought If I Never Get Back was about the best, up there with The Natural and Bang the Drum Slowly. The Celebrant is at the pinnacle of baseball novels.

And thanks for showing the cover. That card on there will get some folks to read it!

Jeff I'll forward this link to my wife, see if see wants to shop in your store. Remember, it's a surprise.

Frank, I picked up "If I never get back" from a bargain bin quite a few years ago and read it cover to cover. I don't think I've ever heard anyone else mention it till I saw it in your post.

I'll let you know what I think about The Celebrant.
