Default T206 Southern Leaguers have really cooled down

Grades 1(10) - 4(50).
When I was deep into these cards a few years ago(2008-ish), these were the prices you could expect (with some differences between certain players):
1 = $75-$95
2 = $95 - $125
3 = $125 - $175
4 = $175 - $225

Today:

1 = $35 - $45
2 = $45 - $75
3 = $75 - $95
4 = $125 - $220 (very subject specific)

Buy high, sell low...

I look for 87 -92 stuff to be hot this winter. I have figured out a way to make artificial fire logs out of them.

Default E98s Shouldn't be hot!

You guys got it all wrong. E98s are not, at least they shouldn't be hot! They are quite worthless in fact so nobody should bid on them...Ok!

I did steal your idea Pete.....as I said "by popular demand".

And I will concur with your set that isn't hot and add D359's to them also. Even mid grade and some high grade examples of both of these sets can usually be had for a fraction of their prices from 3-8 yrs ago.

Hi Jeff,

Agree 100% - was going to say the same thing. Cold as ice...even on the highest graded examples out there (PSA 5-6) and even on HOFers.

Cheers,
Blair

Default hot and not hot....

IMO....

Hot: The upcoming Net54 Dinner at the National in Chicago.
Not: The dealers at the National that won't have their stuff priced AND the admission fees to the show.

Hot: The 2011 Detroit Tigers (bad news....we're still in June)
Not: The 2011 Minnesota Twins (bad news for Tiger fans....we're still in June. Yikes!)

HOT: A 1958 Topps Red Wilson PSA 10 for $4,051.

There was recently some discussion that this PSA 10 may have been previously graded a PSA 8 & recently won on Ebay for $28. The buyer of the 8 and the seller of the 10 appear to be same Ebay account since their feedback #'s are identical.

See discussion and auction pages and draw your own conclusions:

http://forums.collectors.com/message...67&STARTPAGE=1

COLD: 1967 Topps #429 Gerry Roggenburk PSA 9. One sold in October 2007 for $3,683.00. Another example recently sold for $261.81. That's a 93% drop in value.

Default pretty cool side to this story actually

Within 2 days that guy, a 91 year old former ballplayer who happens to be living in SF, read the paper and contacted them. Pretty cool little baseball story... links below...

San Franciscans will appreciate the photo of DiMaggio because many locals prefer to remember Joe as the baseball-crazy North Beach kid, rather than the grimly aloof Manhattan superstar of later years. In this photo: no pinstripes.

Bidders must register by Wednesday at 5 p.m. West Coast time, and initial bids (Lot No. 1071) must be in by Friday at 6 p.m. The bidding was over $1,600 as of Thursday night.

Bonus mystery: Next to DiMaggio in the photo is an unidentified guy. Is it a Yankee teammate? A coach? A stadium peanut vendor? Maybe it's Engelberg, letting down his guard.

Hot- 1948 Bowman Musial SGC/PSA-5 range. Multiple BIN's in $325-$335 range 4-5 months ago... now seeing it sell for $475-$500 everytime.

Not- T202's with respect to their SMR value. Only been collecting them for about 9 mths, notice they almost never command full value.. have been picking up great HOF'ers for between 50-65% of SMR. Great set, great pics, great value. Love it!

What's hot? The Rush concert I just got home from- those guys still sound amazing, they played all of the good old stuff and their show was 3 hours with NO opening band !!!

What's not hot- not having enough $$ at certain times to fuel my T206 addiction and.....noticing certain cards I want on the BST a little too late.

Whats not hot is probably the price for one of their Concert shirts. Do you know how much they go for now?

I remember paying about $7 for my first concert(shirt), good ole flute playing Jethro Tull in 1979 North Sea Oil tour

$7.00 days are long gone....I didn't even bother to check out how much the concert shirts were, but I saw a guy selling the programs for $20.00. I'm sure the shirts were probably expensive though....

Johnny- awesome !! 7 times !!

It was an amazing show, can't wait for them to come back !!

I think Exhibits have cooled off, I know the Whales have all but completed their sets and prices are off 20-40% on all but the scarcest and highest graded cards. I agree about T3's being way cold, I sold my one at auction this year for about a 40% loss. I also think E90-1 have been down a lot, also seems like a lot of them have hit the market this year.

On whats Hot, I agree early years of Zeenuts are higher than just 1-2 years ago. T209's seem to be selling strong too.
